In July of 2010, Valley Health released data from a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) that identified specific areas of concern in regards to the health of citizens in Valley Health’s service area. Gaps were identified and work groups were established to begin to strategize how the community could come together to address the concerns. The Family Developmental and Social Health (FDSH) Work Group was formed and subsequently the Youth Risk Behaviors (YRB) Subgroup was established to bring together community organizations and individuals specifically focused on youth in the Lord Fairfax Health District*.
Dr. Nicki Lykens is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic and offers family wellness care for ages 1 day to 100+ years for those seeking improved health and function. Her passion is to teach people how to overcome health obstacles by doing two simple things: by removing the stressors or toxins that weaken the body and by supplying the body with what it is lacking for vitality. Through chiropractic Dr. Nicki assists the body's natural healing ability by restoring proper spinal nerve communication between the brain and body. This approach to health expression vs. sickness treatment is what drew her to become a chiropractor. She is committed to promoting family wellness through consistent chiropractic care and better lifestyle habits.
Debbie Jeunette, is a Certified Health Coach, Massage Therapist, a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and has over 35 years in the Fitness Industry as a Group Fitness Trainer. Her Health Coaching practice, NUTRITION NATURALLY NOW, develops Corporate Wellness programs, keynote presentations, individual and group coaching tailored to the individual’s needs.
As a Certified Health Coach, she facilitates workshops that include education on how to implement better nutrition and life choices to create a healthier life and more efficient day, and reduced stress in the environment. It serves as a first step in allowing YOU to improve your workplace health, and therefore experience many of the benefits described above.
